She watches him with tear-filled eyes
Her baby by her side
He strums away on his guitar
He thinks he wants to die
He sings a song of love and pain
She broke his heart in two
But he knows that he's to blame
He knows that much is true
He can't erase the things he's done
The secrets he's locked away
He wants to go back and start again
There's so much he wants to say
She misses the way he made her smile
He misses the way she made him laugh
He misses the way she made him smile
She misses the way he made her laugh
He wants to go back and start things over
She wants to go back and make things right
He wants to go back and change his actions
She wants to go back and be polite

If only they knew that the other was sorry
Then things might have been alright
