Gretchen stared across the classroom at the alien obsessed boy called "Dib". She watched Dib as he glanced over towards Zim. Dib claimed that Zim was an alien. Insane or not, Gretchen still loved him. She even thought his weirdness made him even cuter.

She realised the green kid was staring right back at Dib, but it wasn't their usual death glare. There was something soft, nice. Gretchen recognized it as the same way she looked at Dib. 'strange…' she thought, 'they're probably just dreaming about beating each other up at break, it means nothing'. She looked down at her notebook at her many sketches of Dib with little hearts around it. She wondered if her love for him was getting obsessive. 'Compared to Zim and Dib's obsession with each other, this is nothing'.

The bell snapped her out of her thoughts, and the two boys out of their trance. Dib stood up, gathering his books. He shoved Zim out of his way as he left the class room, causing Zim's papers to fall everywhere. "Curse you, Dib! How dare you touch Ziiiiim!" Dib chuckled, "you deserve it, you ugly space monster." And with that, Dib walked away.

Gretchen put her books in her locker and headed in the direction of the lunch room. She was the only one left in the hallways. Gretchen hated crowds, she tried to avoid them if possible. She walked past Dib's locker, she noticed it was still open. A thought crossed her head, she got the urge to look inside. She reached out her hand to open the door before pulling it away. She knew it would be in invasion of privacy, something she couldn't do to her love.

"Can I… help you?" asked Dib from behind her. Gretchen jumped, startled at the sudden sound. She turned around, face to face with Dib. "I was j-just passing! And I was closing that… for you… because it was open…" Dib took a step closed to her, reaching an arm around her to lock his locker. He smiled at her, "well, thanks, Gretchen." She turned bright red, embarrassed to talk to him. He was a nerd just like her, but he was super cute. Anyone could see that.

"I have to go! Bye." She turned and speed walked to the lunch room. She had almost made it when she ran into Zim, who was coming out of the bathroom. He had bruises and bite marks all over his neck. She stopped to stare at him. He glared at her. "what do you want, human?" "Nothing!" she squeaked, and ran off before he could say another word.

She walked into the lunch room and sat in the back table with the other rejects. She thought about what she had seen. Zim and Dib seemed to had been alone together, and Zim was covered in bruises. What could that mean? She had an idea, but she didn't want to think about it. Her mind slipped back into that moment when Dib spoke to her, a true rarity. Any day that Dib talks to her is a good day.

What about Zim? They had been acting differently around each other lately. Something had happened between them. They exchanged slight smiles rather than death glares. Their hatred seemed forced. It couldn't be what she thought. Dib? Gay? No, certainly not. But something in her knew the truth, the cold, hard truth about Dib. About the green kid. She just refused to believe it.
