Eternity

Eternity

Some say it's a word with no meaning. But we disagree. Eternity is anything so perfect that it would be cosmic injustice if it didn't last forever. And by forever, we mean from absolute beginning to its end.
When we first met, it was under somewhat turbulent circumstances. One of us was separated from her parents, the other was with a father only, a father he had not seen in mant years. We fought to save our families. In a way, then we realized that as members of the human family we were bound to protect all.
Protecting ourselves was also a high priority, though. When one of us fell sick, the other protected her. Always there for each other... we were together even before we realized the true meaning of the word.
Together even through a time of despair and darkness... All the others were defeated and we alone remained. But we refused to separate. Always together... and that saved two worlds. If we had left each other it would have been disastrous.
We protected each other even across dimensions. We always managed to come whenever needed. We didn't realize the connection then. Just vauge inklings.
But now we are here today to confirm what we in a way we've known since practically the womb. That we'll always be together, there for the other. We don't really need to say these vows... they put in mere words our deepest feeling. But it looks good for others.
I do.
