AN: Hope you enjoy!
*This story is completely separate from "The Reason Why".
Also, I'm so sorry about the wait for my story Family Of Fugitives. I've had a lot of writer's block for that story and I've also just gotten distracted by other ideas (like this one. Whoops).
I don't own anything you recognize.
Remus shivered in the cold December air, bracing himself for the frostbite he will probably be waking up with in the morning.
Dora had tried to get him to take a blanket, but he refused, saying he would probably end up tearing it to shreds before he could use it to keep himself warm. Even with the Wolfsbane Potion, Remus had a tendency to destroy things in his wolf form.
He sighed as he thought of what his wife and daughter might be doing at that moment. They were both still awake when he left, sitting on the couch together and watching a Christmas film, giggling about something that had nothing to do with what was happening on the television.
Remus often found himself wondering how he got so lucky.
When Andy was born, his life was filled with so much uncertainty. The question of whether or not Tonks and Remus would live long enough to see their daughter's first birthday, the doubt Remus was feeling that morphed into fierce love and protectiveness as he held her for the first time.
But now, fifteen years later, Remus was happier than he had ever been. Andy was absolutely brilliant-one of the top students in her year and named one of the Hufflepuff Prefects for the coming year (much to her mother's mock-annoyance). He was so proud of his girl.
And Dora. What did he ever do to deserve someone like her? Her bravery and fierce loyalty inspired him every day.
Remus thought with a small laugh about what his father-in-law had told him about Dora when she was a teenager and thanked every higher power that Andy was more like himself than her mother. Remus was sure he wouldn't be able to handle two of Dora.
Andy and Dora were close, but their personalities clashed every once in a while-causing them to bicker more like sisters than mother and daughter.
They were probably going to bed soon. Ever since Andy learned about her father's condition, when she was five, she slept with Dora every full moon. Even now, ten years later.
How many fifteen-year-olds do you know that still sleep with their mother?, Dora would tease her. However, Remus knew that his wife enjoyed the company when he was gone. By the time he would be back the next morning, the two of them were already awake and eating breakfast. Dora would force him to eat something before letting him sleep for the rest of the day.
The Lupin family had fallen into a comfortable routine, despite the unpleasant situations every month, and having people there for him made being a werewolf more bearable-if only just a bit.
Remus sighed as he felt the transformation beginning, reminding himself that in just a few hours, he would be home with his family.
Just a few hours.
AN: Super short, I know. Thanks for reading and reviewing!
