This has a more mature rating than my usual, but it doesn't mean anything too much, just did so to make sure :)

Though he's eyes were closed, he was far from asleep.

Shikamaru twisted around slowly under the covers, making sure not to wake up the one beside him. Temari had fallen asleep long ago, holding him tight when she did.

Carefully, the young man shifted her arm off of his shoulder, giving him a little more space to move.

He could just make out a portion of her face that was enlightened by the moonlight glowing through the window. Her bangs covered her eyes and cheeks, and Shikamaru took a soft finger to swiftly shift them behind her ears.

Doing so caused Temari to move her legs in the bed, until her warmth was shared by his. Yet other than that, she was sleeping like a baby.

Shikamaru smirked, before stroking her cheek with his thumb, and kissing Temari on the forehead. Her head lifted as his lips parted from her, before once again returning to where it was before.

Sitting up, the young man cleared his face of his own fringe, picking up the shoulder length hair and finding the band to keep it up.

He hated putting his hair down, but Temari didn't seem to mind it at all.

Nor did he when the four pony tails disappeared, and her hair fell down her back.

Shikamaru scanned the room for any item of clothing that belonged to him, before leaving the room shirtless, silently closing the door.

He walked over to the kitchen, a "troublesome" creeping through his mouth when he hit his toe on the bench, forcing him to find a lamp.

He turned around to fin his shirt crumpled on the floor beside the couch.

Chuckling softly, he picked it up and put it on, walking back into the kitchen to drink something warm.

Shikamaru sat down, a cup of tea in his hands, while he carefully examined the door he had previously exited through, and then the window beside him.

The village was a very quiet place during the night. The the dim lanterns in the horizon and the falling of leaves helped to keep it from being lifeless.

It was why the ticking of the clock on the wall was so easy to hear.

Looking at the time, Shikamaru decided it was best to leave the hotel, and let Temari sleep.

He grabbed his jacket, and left the hotel, nodding to the receptionist downstairs for a farewell.

Would the girl upstairs be surprised to find him missing from the bedroom when she awoke, or would she see it as something typical of him?

After all, he didn't even say good night.

Shikamaru considered the thought, but shrugged it off and smiled. He didn't care.

Because he would back outside of the hotel in the morning, waiting for her to awake.
