Rainbow Dash was flying one day when she accidentally fell into a mysterious metallic object in the Everfree Forest because of a headwind, it shot to the stars with the poor winged pony trapped inside screaming for help.
Her friends stopped looking for their beloved friend after four months, they held a funeral in her honor never knowing what happened to her or finding a body.
Eleven months after her disappearance a streak of fire entered the atmosphere of the world of that was unknowingly threatened by an evil alien menace. The last star fighter Gradius; the artificial intelligence, gave her last good bye to the brave pilot before ejecting her safely into the atmosphere.
Every pony came out to investigate the explosion, they saw nothing but scrap metal all over the place and looked to the sky to see a speck slowly falling down to them. A parachute sticking from an odd chair with a rather familiar rainbow colored pony fell.
It was a crying burnt and torn Rainbow Dash, she was physically fine after a short medical run down.
When asked what had happened to her by Twilight sparkle, Rainbow didn't say anything and broke down crying.
The only thing she said after is that they wouldn't believe her if she told them, the friend she had made died upon burning up in the atmosphere giving her artificial life to make sure that the rainbow colored pony was returned safely to her friends.
It was a long and arduous journey across the stars which would forever haunt her dreams.
She would later write a sci-fi classic that nobody knew was the truth called Gradius: Legend of the Vic Viper. It sold well and she still remembers the speeds of crossing the universe with her friend to this day.
