"Papa… why is it wet?"

"It's raining, mi hija."

"Why is it raining?"

"The skies are raining because they are crying for you."

Philippines never got to ask why they are crying.

"Brother… why are you crying?"

For once, the American smiled at her, tears grazing his face.

"They wanted me to leave you, my precious sister…"

"Why?"

"We would never understand, my sister…"

America pulled his younger colony close to him, his tears fell down freely.

"I can never plan on leaving you, my dear sister…"

"…Kiku-nii?"

The Japanese turned to look at her.

"Yes, Firipin-chan?"

"Why… are those men dying…? T-they did nothing wrong…"

"You wouldn't understand, Firipin-chan. Please go to sleep as soon as possible."

As usual, Philippines followed his order.

She was happy. Happy to know she was free. Happy to know her people are free. Free from the clutches of colonizers. Free from the clutches of foreigners.

And free from the clutches of England's horrible cooking.

With a loud roar, she cried:

"Itaas ang bandila ng Pilipinas! Ibaba ang bandila ng mga Amerikano! Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!" (Raise the flag of the Philippines! Bring down the flag of the Americans! Long live the Philippines!)

And for once, Maria Clara Carriedo de la Cruz finally felt free.

A/N: Sorry for the OOCness! I couldn't help but make this little one shot! I know it sucks, but really… I felt to make this one shot in just 10 minutes! Please review and tell me if it sucks or it was fine~
