"Have I told you how happy I am today?"
"Not in the past minute."
"Well then I really need to get my act together then don't I?"
"Well Brody I wasn't going to say anything."
"Oh really you weren't?"
"No, I was trying to be nice."
"I know that's hard for you."
"Ha ha ha. Just kiss me Officer."
"I can probably handle that." He offered her a soft peck on the lips and Natalie couldn't resist the smile that broke out on her lips when they touched. Hearing his phone ring Brody pulled away.
"Let it ring."
"I can't it could be important."
"More important than your girlfriend trying to have sex with you?"
"Not fair. That's not fair. Damn it I hate my job!" He picked up his phone with a scowl on his face, "Lovett. Yeah. Oh. Yeah, yeah I'm on my way. No I'll be there in five. Just need to grab my gun and vest. Put me on as en route."
"What's going on?" The redhead asked once her boyfriend jumped out of bed and snapped his phone shut shoving it in his pocket.
"Shots fired called. Sent a few over there and they need back-up. An officer could be down." He picked up his holster and the extra clips beside of it. Throwing on his vest he turned around and was met by the woman he was sharing a life with.
"Be careful."
"I will….now that I have something to come home to." Kissing her cheek he ran out the door and Natalie picked up her cell phone staring at, waiting for a call to come in.
