(Larry's POV)
As I stood there, all I saw was the dark water below me. I looked up, the night sky just as black as the water. I felt a cool breeze ruffle my hair, and it made me shiver. I held onto the cold rail of the large bridge; the only thing allowing me to keep my balance on the small ledge I was standing on. It was late at night, so hardly any cars would be passing by. I felt a few tears leak down my face as the same words repeated in my head over and over: She'll never love you. You're a nobody. Jump.
I felt my hands begin to loosen on the rail as I made my decision. But just as I was about to let go, I heard a car door slam behind me. I gripped the rail again, curious as to who would be out this late. I turned my head to see none other than Carrie. My eyes widened as she started walking towards me.
"Larry, I tried calling and calling. What are you doing h-" She stopped as her eyes adjusted to the darkness, and she saw my position. "Larry! What are you doing?!" I gulped and hung my head as my eyes began to water. Of all the people to find me, why did it have to be her? I stayed silent. I heard her walk up behind me. "Larry…get away from there!" I blinked back the tears that fought to come out. I didn't answer her, which must've scared her. "Why are you doing this?!"
"I…just…just leave me alone, Carrie!" I yelled at her. She looked taken aback.
"Larry, let me help you. Tell me what's wrong!"
"No! You can't stop me! Just go!" I yelled again. I heard her sigh. She then walked over and climbed over the rail as well. She scooted over until she was standing next to me. I looked at her, shocked. "C-carrie? What…what are you doing?!"
"If you go, I go too." I looked at her with pleading eyes.
"Carrie, please don't do this."
"I have to."
"But…why?" She smiled and looked down, her eyes closed.
"Because, Larry…I…need you. Who's going to tell me when my ideas won't work? Who's going to be the only sensible one in the band? Who's going to be the one who will freak out every time we drag him onto a rollercoaster? There's only one 'you,' Larry…" She released one of her hands from the rail, and placed it over mine. "…and I can't live in a world without you." I stood, frozen, hearing what she had to say. I looked down.
"But, Care. You wouldn't really jump, would you? I mean, you have so much more to live for! You're on your way to getting a record deal. Soon, you'll be able to live in your own house, and you can start a family. Me…well…I'm just a nobody…" I heard her giggle slightly, and I looked up again.
"Larry…I can't do any of that without you…" I looked at her, blushing.
"Wh-what do you mean?" She smiled wider. Suddenly, she leaned forward, and I felt her kiss me. I gasped, and before I knew what was going on, I was being pulled to the other side of the rail by her. I was still in shock. It felt like I had no control over my body as I let her pull me to safety. I shook my head, and snapped myself out of it. I looked up and gazed into her sapphire eyes. "D-did you really mean that?" She looked at me lovingly.
"Of course, silly." She said, giving me a hug. "Just don't ever scare me like that again." I smiled and hugged her back.
"It's okay, Care. I won't…"
