Another short one about maggie and eliot dating :)
Coffee
The first time they met for coffee, he was coning her. They sat outside of a nice café in L.A. and proceeded to have one of the most awkward/embarrassing 'dates' that Eliot had ever been on. Maggie enjoyed it quite a bit though.
The second time they met for coffee, it was an accident. They were in the same town, her for work, him for a break, and they had somehow ended up at the same coffee shop. They sat and talked for two hours. It started with her checking up on the team and him checking up on her. Then they moved to art and food and honestly they couldn't tell you everything they discussed.
The third time, he called to check on her after the Kiev fiasco. He took her to get coffee in case she wanted to move around. They stayed until the café closed.
The next time they got coffee, she was returning the favor. Sophie had called and mentioned that he seemed upset and had disappeared after a job involving some mega store.
Pretty soon the coffee not-dates became planned became (at least) monthly occurrences became dates.
They had different dates, of course. Movies, lunch, dinner, gala openings. They even went to the zoo once.
But coffee dates were Eliot's favorite. They could talk (unlike a movie) and they could move. They could take their coffee to a park or art gallery. They could debate which country had the best jewelry while window shopping (she said France, he said Italy) or they could sit in silence, just enjoying each other's company. They were flowing dates. Always different. Always enjoyable. And always perfect.
Reviews make me happy and smiley and more likely to add more :)
