If you haven't read Allegiant yet, this might be a spoiler, so safe to say you're not mad at Veronica Roth just yet and you should not read ahead.

An alternate ending to Chapter Fifty from Allegiant (Divergent #3), continued from Page 474, from the following line:

"I didn't come here to steal anything, David."

Before I can move toward the device, a glint catches my eye. I can hear footsteps moving toward me, but they're not coming from the hallway, they're coming from within the Weapons Lab.

"Who is with you? This is impossible," David says.

Fog begins to fill the air near the ground. I look toward the serums, but nothing has been touched. The fog is coming from the same direction as the footfalls.

I know I can't set the device yet, David is too skittish. I hear soft music, it's nothing like the music the Amity play. A woman moans, and her voice fills the Weapons Lab. A few more steps and I can see her silhouette before she emerges from the fog. David lowers his arm, the gun pointing toward the floor. The woman's dress is shining as if it were made from tiny pieces of glass that hug every curve of her body.

She looks at me, and sings, "I fought for you, the hardest, it made me the strongest, so tell me your secrets, I just can't stand to see you leaving."

I don't want to leave. I don't want to leave Tobias.

She moves toward David, her hips swaying slowly, crooning at him, "but heaven couldn't wait for you, no heaven couldn't wait for you, heaven couldn't wait for you," she spins him slowly around in his wheelchair bringing him toward her as she sings softly to him, "so go on, go home."

The gun falls from David's hand and hits the floor. His body slumps into his wheelchair, his eyes looking at the beautiful woman without seeing her.

"Did you just sing him to death?" The woman turns toward me, a knowing smile spreading across her face, "He ain't never seen a booty like this."

A laugh escapes from my throat, "Who are you?"

"Before I was cryogenically frozen, I was Beyoncé, the Queen Bee, Mrs. Carter, Sasha Fierce. The most dangerous weapon in this room. I'm Yoncé," she said, throwing her hip out on the last syllable.

"It's not who I am, but what I'm doing. I'm helping my girl out. Now what are you goin' to do?"

I move toward the device checking over my shoulder at Yoncé. She nods at me to continue. I type in the code that Caleb and I memorized, and press the green button. I hear a beep, and then the sound of the serum being released into the air. I look at back at Yoncé and smile.

"Girl, you flawless. Go on get that surfboardt," she says as she walks away, disappearing into the Weapons Lab.
