Wasted Obsession

Disclaimer: J K Rowling doesn't ship slash (as far as I can see), never mind this slash!

AN: Er… yeah… read and review!

It was an obsession, Argus Filch decided eventually.

Everywhere the boy went, Argus seemed to follow him, Whether he was going to his lessons, his meals, or to play a prank, Argus was always there.

His name was Lee Jordan and he had a detention record that rivalled even Sirius Black's. He lived to cause trouble, and had lengthened the list of forbidden items considerably. It now included tarantulas, balls of wool, and oranges. Amongst other things.

He was friends with the Weasley twins, which came as no surprise. The three were made for each other, and Argus had wondered before whether they had benn brought together by divine (or maybe not so divine) intervention. They would have been a dream team, had they not lived for the sole purpose of making Argus' life as difficult as possible.

Lee Jordan was very clever, but Argus had thought before that his intelligence was wasted on him. If Argus had been a wizard, he wouldn't have used his magic to drive the caretaker mad. No, he would have excelled in his lessons and made his teachers proud… or so he liked to think.

Lee was a Gryffindor, and, again, there were no surprises there. His daring, which Argus had come to dread, was quite something. And he did have some sense of honour, even if it was a bit twisted.

He was popular, and Argus Filch, the hated, squib caretaker, was indescribably jealous. But Lee, like Sirius Black before him, had wasted it all. He had taken it for granted and ignored it, when he could have shaped his life, his future with it.

There he was again, talking to the Weasley twins.

Yes, Argus decided, it was an obsession, but a wasted one.
