"Katniss!" Rue screamed. "Katniss!"
"Rue!" Katniss shouted from the distance.
I quickly ducked behind a tree, spear in hand. If I was out in the open, Katniss was sure to kill me right away. But maybe I could kill her if I snuck up on her...
"KATNISS!" Rue screamed louder.
I heard footsteps and slightly looked over the tree and saw Katniss cutting Rue free.
"You're okay," Katniss said, holding Rue, her back facing me. This is my chance, I thought. I quickly stepped aside from the cover of the tree and stepped onto a twig. Katniss whipped around and quickly started to take an arrow out. I threw the spear and then I felt something pierce my chest. I looked down and saw an arrow sticking out of it. I looked back up and saw that instead of hitting Katniss, I had hit Rue. I collapsed to the ground and everything went black.
