The orange haired boy walked into the classroom, a huge grin bearing with excitement and his friends stared in shock. He just smiled at them as he took his usual seat nearest the window and put his legs up on the desk, ready for the lesson to commence.
FLASHBACK
"Look, we'll make a deal. Any time I need to fight a hollow at school you can take my place"
"You want me to pretend to be you?" Kon replied.
"No, just use my body. Call yourself Kon or whatever. I'll just pretend to have multiple personality disorder or something" Ichigo replied in a bored tone.
"Really?" Kon gasped, his eyes filling with tears of happiness.
"You have the right to live just as much as I do" Ichigo said back nonchalantly.
"Thanks" Kon grinned, a tear running down his cheek.
Rukia chose this moment to walk through the door.
"Rukia?"
"Yeah"
"Did you wipe the memories of my class mates yet?"
"Not yet" she replied, a little out of breath, "I'll go now"
"Don't bother"
"huh?" she questioned confused.
"Kon is going to be me at school when there is a hollow"
Rukia frowned, "But If I don't remove their memories they will think you're nuts!"
"I'm sure they already think that, plus it wasn't me it was Kon".
END OF FLASHBACK
The next day he found himself surrounded by Tatsuki, Keigo, Orihime, Chad and Rukia when he attempted to eat lunch alone.
"So we met Kon yesterday" Orihime began shyly.
Time to act
Ichigo spat out his juice.
"Why didn't you tell us you had multiple personality disorder?" Tatsuki demanded rudely.
Ichigo wiped his mouth and put down his drink, "I don't wanna talk about this".
They all looked at him with wide eyes, making a circle around him making it hard for him to escape.
"This changes everything" Orihime whispered to herself.
"It changes nothing" Ichigo replied bluntly.
"How many other personalities do you have? You always seem so solemn and antisocial"
Ichigo's face softened slightly.
"I'm only aware of Kon" Ichigo replied scratching his head, "though he's been coming out a lot more recently, I apologise"
"You dumbass you should have told us" Rukia yelled at him.
Ichigo gave her a glance before sighing.
"So do you like…. Blackout during these switches" Orihime asked shyly.
Ichigo simply nodded.
"That's so cool!" Keigo exclaimed ashtonished, "I can't believe this!"
"I admit I'm concerned" Rukia spoke.
"Did this happen cuz of your mum?" Tatsumi blurted out.
Ichigo looked up at her sharply. "You know nothing of my mother" he growled before pushing his way through and striding away.
"What happened to his mom?"
"Ichigio used to be a happy person until his mom died, since then he stopped smiling…. His mom's death was probably the trigger. I can't believe I never noticed!"
"You think that Kon is how he used to be and that the grumpy Ichigo is the result of his mom dying?" Orihime asked.
Keigo smiled, "If that's the case and Kon's been coming out more recently, that means that he's healing, yeah?"
"Yeah, let's hope so" Rukia smiled.
