Zelda picked up her pen yet again, trying to word her letter in the way that wouldn't hurt him more... It didn't seem possible. Link had shut himself in his house, and he didn't come out; she had personally gone to Ordon to see if she could talk some sense into him...but after everyone he knew had tried, they gave up. It was only two months after Midna shattered the mirror—he still needed to heal...but she knew, somewhere deep within her, that he wouldn't ever be the same.
And when it rains, on this side of town, it touches everything . Just say it again and mean it -we don't miss a thing. You made yourself a bed at the bottom of the blackest hole; convinced yourself that it's not the reason you don't see the sun anymore...

Link relived that moment every day, over and over again. In his dreams. When he debated whether to get up out of bed in the morning, or to stay, day after day. The time slowed, and he wanted to forget. But he just couldn't—couldn't open the door, talk, couldn't do anything.
And oh, oh, how could you do it? Oh I, I never saw it coming ...Oh, oh, I need the ending ; so why can't you stay, just long enough to explain?
Twilight was the worst for him. He remembered the times when he was a wolf, and he would run free, and Midna would laugh and poke fun at him, and how she would look up at the sky and smile so sadly...how much he wanted to make her happy...

Maybe he just didn't want to see anyone. Maybe he wanted to suffer alone, and she was making it worse. But she couldn't just wait for him to heal. No, he needed to know that someone still cared, that the Hero of Time was not forgotten.
And when it rains , will you always find an escape? Just running away from all of the ones who love you ...From everything. You made yourself a bed at the bottom of the blackest hole- And you'll sleep 'til May and you'll say that you don't want to see the sun anymore...

He had been so happy. He had thought that there was a happy ending. "No...no happy endings for the Hero," he whispered to himself. He held himself together with the thin hope that he would forget...it was slipping. He knew that he would never forget that moment...that moment of despair...
And oh, oh, how could you do it? Oh I, I never saw it coming... Oh, oh, I need the ending ; so why can't you stay, just long enough to explain? Take your time , take my time; t Take these chances to turn it around , (Take your time) just take these chances, we'll make it somehow ...And take these chances to turn it around, just turn it around...
It could have worked...it could have.
And oh, how could you do it? Oh I, I never saw it coming... Oh, oh, how could you do it? Oh I, I never saw it coming... Oh, oh, how could you do it? Oh I, I never saw it coming ; Oh, oh, I need an ending ...
So why can't you stay just long enough to explain?
Why? the thought was both Zelda's and Link's.
You can take your time ...Take my time...
Author's Note: This is the reason that I cry every time I hear this song.
