I was having a bad day. It all started when I woke up in a small dusty cabin on the floor. Where am I? I got up and looked around the room, I was sleeping in the corner and the only other things in the cabin were an old, muddy pair of tennis shoes and a pile of rusty scuba gear. I painfully got up and opened the door. It was nighttime in some kind of forest. Some kids were walking down a trail in the woods, each carrying scuba gear they had probably gotten out of their own rooms.
"Percy, come on, unless you want to stay here" a girl whispered to me as she trudged by.
"I…were is everyone going? What is this place?" I said.
"Come on, this is no time to be joking, you DO know this is the night us 'campers' escape, right?" she said as she pulled me along.
"We walked for a bit with about ten other kids our age when the girl suddenly stopped and glared at me.
"You forgot your scuba gear!" she quietly yelled.
"What is the scuba gear for?" I asked
"Duh, to get off the island, unless you want to swim holding your breath as we go under the security perimeter. Wow Percy, you have been acting really dumb lately, is everything ok?" she asked.
"No! I don't know where I am and I didn't even know my name before you told me!" I shouted. Everyone looked at me and held up a finger to their lips to indicate silence.
"Percy, I already told you this is no time for joking!" the girl whispered forcefully to me. I looked into her gray eyes and nodded. I had a weird feeling of de ja veu when I looked into her eyes; they looked like somebody else's I knew. My head started to hurt.
"Fine Percy, I know how good you are at holding your breath, you should be fine" I looked straight ahead and saw three people who kept looking back at the girl and me. I finally got tired of them looking at us and yelled at them to stop staring, they did not look at us for the whole time until we got to the lake.
