Author's Note: This little drabble popped into my head after rewatching last week's episode. I love Sam's expression when Andy gets the coffee delivery from Luke. :p

"Ewww..."

Sam glanced away from the surveillance equipment to Andy's sour face. "What's the matter?"

Andy grimaced and pulled the lid of the coffee. The second Sam saw the colour of the concoction he knew it was wrong.

"I just don't usually take it like this," she frowned into the paper cup.

"Oh." Sam glanced at Jo who was walking past with Traci. He made the connection and quickly buried a grin. "Maybe it wasn't for you."

Gail let out a snort then masked it with a cough. When Andy turned to drop the cup into a trash bin, Gail glanced at Sam, amusement evident in her eyes. Sam almost laughed at their shared understanding. When Andy turned back around, he took Gail's cue and pretended to be interested in the cell phones.

As he continued to go over the details of their undercover assignment, Sam had to concentrate on keeping a straight face. He couldn't believe Callaghan had been stupid enough to give the new girlfriend the old girlfriends combo of sugar and cream. A rookie mistake and a definite sign surfer-boy wasn't as unaffected by Rosati's new placement as he was trying to let on.

Callaghan was an idiot and this time Sam was going to keep his advice to himself. If the moron wanted to screw up the best thing to ever walk into his life, then who was Sam to stand in the way? It was going to be a flaming crash but Sam would be right there to catch Andy on the way down.

He made a mental note to buy her a replacement for her discarded caffeine as soon as they finished.

After all - unlike an idiot boyfriend - a good partner knew how to remember the little things.

Like how to buy your girl a cup of coffee.

And get it right.
