"Elena…" Spike mused as Damon went to pour them drinks.

Elena crossed her arms and glared at the newcomer. "Damon, what did I tell you about picking up strays?" she chided.

Damon took a shot of whiskey and ignored her question.

"'Treat other's the way you want to be treated,' love." Spike smiled as he lounged on the couch, raising the glass Damon handed him then slowly draining it.

"Oh, trust me, I know how I want you to be treated," She gripped his neck and held him pinned against the cushions; he smirked and twisted her arm around, spinning her onto the floor.

"Haven't you taught your girl how to fight, my friend?" Spike wondered, casually tossing the glass into the fire place.

Elena stood up and flounced from the room; "I'll be back," She growled.

"Don't stay out too late," Damon called.

"I can almost hear her roll her eyes," Spike stated as Elena slammed the heavy woodened door and caused the crystal chandelier above it to shatter.

"Elena?" Caroline called as she stood on Matt's front porch.

"Hey Car, guess what, Damon has a new drinking buddy." Elena sighed.

"Have you seen Matt? He hasn't been answering his phone…" Caroline dialed the number again and Elena listened inside the house closely.

"It's ringing," She called, walking in and moving towards the sound.

She stumbled into Matt's bedroom, and picked up the phone from the night stand.

"Hey, it's Matt, I can't come to the phone right now, but leave a message and I'll get back to you ASAP." Elena pushed the end call button and handed the phone to Caroline.

"He's probably at work," Elena said.

"But why would he leave his phone? No teenage guy is ever without his phone." Caroline wondered, biting her lip nervously.

"Let's go ask him," Elena stated, walking back outside.

"Hey Travis, have you seen Matt?" Caroline asked the head bartender of the Mystic Grill.

"No, and he hasn't shown up for his last two shifts, tell him to either come and explain himself, or he's fired." Travis growled as he placed a glass he'd been cleaning on the shelf.

"Okay," Caroline muttered as she followed Elena out into the warming summer sunlight.

"I don't get it, it's not like Matt to just, vanish." Caroline looked flustered, and Elena placed a comforting hand on her shoulder.

"We'll find him, don't worry," She said.

"Hey," Bonnie walked up to them, startling Elena.

"Oh,"

"Hey, have you seen Matt?" Caroline asked immediately, ignoring Elena's discomfort.

"Not since Sunday…" Bonnie replied.

"Where could he be then? It's not like him to-to just leave with out telling someone…" Caroline crossed her arms and paced nervously.

"Did you call him?" Bonnie wondered, staring at Elena.

"No good, his phone's at home," Elena replied, staring at the ground.

"Look, Elena-"

"I'm going to get Damon; maybe his new drinking buddy knows something." Elena flashed out, leaving Bonnie and Caroline in a matter of seconds.
