Hi there! As the other story I'm publishing, this is not mine, it's a translation from an Italian fanfic (entitled the same) written by "Night nins" (that you can find at this link: . ?sid=1868958&i=1).

I'm Italian and I'm currently studying languages, so you may, very likely, find errors. I'd be glad if you could report the ones you notice to me, in a review or PM, so that I can correct and learn from them.

Thanks so much, enjoy it!

...

They were up there, on the top of the EmpireStateBuilding - namely, almost literally a step away from the sky - and New York could be seen below them, as it was a perfect miniature of itself. It was a privilege that very few people were allowed to enjoy, and for the two of them, that happened to be for the most amazing of all reasons.

Neal Caffrey, young, successful artist had just asked Sara Ellis, charming, insurer, with whom he had been having an affair since long, to marry him. And she, teardrops in her eyes had answered "Yes".

They were admiring the landscape, that he had bought her for that day, wishing that moment would never end.

"It's wonderful", hushed her for the millionth time. Sara, her head leaned against her fiancé's shoulder.

"Not as much as you are."

The woman laughed. Neal had always been a great romantic guy, sometimes she had thought it was even too romantic, anyway, she loved him also for this reason.

She stared back at the clear blue sky and then below, at the small moving spots that were the cars. A hundred and three floors, roughly a height of three hundred and sixty feet. She didn't suffer from vertigos, but the effect was awesome and breathtaking anyway.

"What are you thinking about?"

Sara turned her gaze toward the in love, blue eyes of Neal and smiled. "I'm thinking that's all amazing and perfect, that it seems like I'm living a dream, someone's else life. Have you ever thought that this mightn't be your destiny?"

She didn't know the reason of that question in that very moment, maybe an advanced middle age crisis?-, but the step he had accepted to take was something huge. Thinking over it was normal, wasn't it?"

Neal was thinking hard about those words, he took a look at the city, the lights, the colors, and then shifted his gaze in her eyes smiling. "Sometimes I wonder what I might have done in a past life to deserve all of it, A job I love, acknowledged worldwide, a beautiful woman I love so much and that has just accepted to share the rest of her life with me… indeed, it happened to me to wonder that maybe that wasn't what I was meant to. But not now, not today. Whoever's life I'm being living, anything my real life would have been, I know, today, I would be here with you, in your arms, looking at this landscape reflection in your eyes"

"Damn it, Neal!"

She had swore to herself not to cry, again, but how couldn't she not having his eyes filled with tears of joy, hearing such sweet words?
