Willowwacks a wooded uninhabited area

"That is not a word!"

The two siblings stared each other down over the table. The youngest was a boy named Max, a still traveling Pokemon Trainer visiting his older sibling. The oldest was a brunette who had long since become an adult, but apparently took Scrabble with her younger brother far too seriously.

"Look May, just because you're too dumb to know it, doesn't mean it isn't a word!" The boy teased, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose.

"I am not stupid! Right Drew?"

The brother and sister turned their attention to the other person at the table. Drew, May's boyfriend had been sitting silently, nursing his cup of tea as his girlfriend and her brother played Scrabble. He had always been happy to host his girlfriend's brother whenever he was in town. He even enjoyed watching them interact, having no siblings of his own. However, there was nothing he disliked more than when they dragged him into their sibling rivalry.

The green haired man's only response was taking a sip from his tea.

"Drew!"

"Ha! Even your boyfriend knows you're stupid!" Max mocked her.

May looked livid. She stood up from her seat and glared down at her brother.

"You know what Max? I'm tired of your know-it-all attitude! Just because you won the Silver Conference doesn't mean you don't have anything to learn!"

Her brother stood up to match her stare. He was taller now, taller than her and was far more menacing than when he was eight and was traveling with her.

"Yeah? Well I suppose my list of things to learn is far shorter than yours! Given how you didn't even know Willowwacks was a word!"

"Only little smart-ass nerds like you wou-"

"That's enough."

They turned their attention back to Drew who also stood at his seat. His demeanor was the opposite of theirs though. His eyes did not meet May's or Max's as he walked quietly to the sink.

"Max, it's getting late, why don't you go get ready for bed?" Drew asked politely. Calmly he rinsed out his mug. Max sneered. He hated when Drew acted like he was the boss just because he was dating May.

"Don't go telling me what to do Drew."

"I'm not telling you what to do," He replied from the sink, "I am simply suggesting that a guest in my home should probably go to bed, and if he should disagree there is a perfectly good Pokémon Center on the other side of town."

The sound in the room came from the swish and falling of water from the tap. Drew didn't need to look to know Max had left. He heard May sigh then approach him. He felt her stare on the back of his neck.

"That was a little harsh." She said, "Don't you think?"

Drew smirked and turned off the faucet. He turned towards her and leaned against the counter.

"And 'little smart-ass nerd' is an affectionate nickname?"

May chuckled lightly, "Fine, but why didn't you say something when I asked?"

"Because I'm not an accurate judge of your intelligence." He shrugged, but grinned slyly at her in return.

Cocking her head to the side she came to lean against him, wrapping her arms around his neck. She kissed his nose lightly.

"And why is that?" She asked.

"Because I have no clue what a willowwacks is either."
