Rebound

This is just a small part of my new fanfiction "Rebound" The main pairing is SakuHina.

Laying on the bed. Her long dark blue hair spread out across the pillow. She couldn't believe it. Was this all a dream? Did she imagine the last few months. It felt like heaven. She had gotten what she had been waiting for all this time. The boy of her dream. Her childhood crush. But on the day she finally decides to tell him those three little words; he does something heart breaking.

"Naruto-kun" She said her voice soft; almost a whisper. "I..I..I wanted to tell you something."

"I have something I wanted to tell you too." He said, his face; depressed.

"Um…Y..y..you go first then." She stuttered; nervously at what he might say, her face bright red.

"Well, Hinata...you see, we've been going out for a while now and I just wanted to say that…" Before he could finish she interrupted him, her face all a glow.

"N..Naruto…I was thinking the same thing!" She exclaimed not even realizing what he was about to say.

"Really?" Naruto said, his face in shock that she of all people even thought that. He remembered when Sakura first told him how much Hinata liked him, and how she liked him since she first met him…He couldn't believe that she would think such a thing. He thought that after so many years of crushing on him. Then finally getting what she wanted. Breaking up would be the last thing on her mind.

"Yeah, I had no idea you felt the same way as me." She said, looking in the opposite direction as him

"Well, I'm more surprised you feel this way." He said "I mean I thought you loved me or something with how much you look out for me"

"What?" She quickly turned towards Naruto, realizing at that moment they weren't thinking of the same thing.

"Yeah, I could have sworn you would have hated this. But I guess you seem okay with the idea of us breaking up" Naruto said, still surprised at the fact that she was okay with the idea.

"B..b..b..breaking up?" She stuttered

"Yeah…I think it would be best." He said "I mean this relationship was fun and all, but I really don't see us together; I don't see a future with us."

"O..o.oh yeah." She said her voice getting quieter and quieter; her heart breaking into a thousand little tiny pieces. "I..I..I was thinking that too."

"That's good, I hope we can still be friend right?" he asked

"Yeah, we can still be friends; of course." She said, trying to put a smile on her face "S..s..see you at the party tonight?"

"Yeah, see you at the party." Said Naruto, as he took off towards the ramen shop with a smile on his face as if nothing had happened.

Hinata stood there, her heart had been broken by the one guy she ever cared about. The day she thought would be one of the best days of her life ended up being one of the worst. She had planned to wake up today and tell her boyfriend that she loved him. But instead, he ends up breaking her heart, and what is worst she still has to see him later tonight at the new years party. She stood there as the cherry blossoms blow threw her hair.

"Such a calm and peaceful day for it to start off this terrible." She thought.
