A/N: This is my first fanfic, so please tell me what you like and what I can do better. I have a fairly long idea for this story in my head, but I don't want to write it all out if you guys don't like it.
Harry and Ginny were destined to be together, this much was true. However, it seemed as if fate was working completely against them whenever they tried to reunite properly in the days following the final battle.
Sure, they had shared a few smiles and longing glances here and there, but other obligations kept butting in and making themselves known in the worst way possible. It was understanding, considering that Harry was Harry Potter, better known as the Boy Who Saved Wizardkind, but it still miffed Ginny to no end.
Twelve hours after the battle had ended, after Harry had gotten a good night's sleep and Ginny had cried out all her tears for Fred, the two young lovers caught each others eyes from across the Gryffindor table. Harry and Ginny simultaneously rose and muttered near identical apologies as they squirmed their ways out of their seats at the packed table.
A small, pleased smile flitted across Ginny's face as she thought about her reunion with Harry. She had waited nearly a year for this moment, and she had twisted and turned ideas in her head for many months, planning what the perfect situation would be. She had concluded that it would include a lovely bouquet of roses, a quiet room filled with pillows, and a box of the best chocolate sold at Honeydukes. And that was just the beginning. Ginny's mind was so full of dreams of snogging and caressing that she didn't even think to look back at Harry. She just walked mechanically towards the exit, where she planned to wait for Harry and snog him senseless. Ginny knew that she wanted to talk to Harry too, and to learn all that had happened in the past year. But that would come after the most important order of business had been completed.
Ginny found herself outside the great oak doors of the Great Hall as she continued her reverie. Harry's faint voice brought her back to the present as she waited in anticipation. She listened with bated breath as she wondered whom he was talking to. Wasn't he coming to see her?
Harry strode out of the Great Hall, deep in conversation with Minister Shacklebolt. Catching sight of Ginny waiting in the shadows, he gave her a sad smile and mouthed a quiet 'sorry'. Ginny was disappointed, but she had waited many months for her reunion and she supposed that she could wait at least a few more hours.
With a small sigh, she turned on her heel and slowly made her way back to breakfast.
So? What did you think??
Review please, and be honest.
