AN: Hello this is my first Naruto story and my first one shot. So I hope you all enjoy.

They Will Be Wrong
Minato stumbled forward to his crying infant son and collapsed down next to him drained and dying. The newborn's face had small whisker marks newly formed and a large black seal on his stomach. Slowly he reached out and covered the baby in the cloth that was in his basket. Naruto slowly stopped screaming and began to settle off to sleep in comfort thanks to the warmth the blanket and his father gave off. Minato smiled tiredly at the small form and began to speak in a soft gentle tone.
"I'm sorry Naruto… This wasn't how I hoped to start you out on your life's journey. I've given you a curse in the minds of many, one that carries much pain, but… I think you'll be able to overcome that pain and use the power that comes with it to be truly great. Who knows, maybe one day you'll be able to help others just like you? Maybe you'll be able to be a friend to those that don't have any."
Coughing a bit Minato took a breath a continued in the same soft caring voice.
"You'll have to have your mothers name for a time since I won't be around to protect you, but it's a good name one I know you'll be proud to carry. I've left instructions that you are to be thought of as a hero… I don't know if the villagers will listen but I think a few will, enough for you to survive at least. I say that because I know you'll have your mother's will and my drive. Just a little bit of hope that tomorrow will be a better day will be enough to live for someone like you."
Minato laughed as he thought of something.
"You'll have your mom's loud mouth and poor manners. Like me you'll be clueless with women, and… be a bit of a pervert. You'll have Kushina's laugh and my smile. Like Kushina you'll be a great joker and be good with kids and like the both of us you'll care far too much."
Minato's eyes began to tear up.
"As you grow up people will say that you're just some snot nosed punk. They won't think you'll amount to much. They might even say you aren't worth anything, but… they will be wrong and you will prove it. You'll go to the academy and you'll try and fail and then succeed. Then when you become a genin you'll, join a team, and go on missions. You'll train hard and forge bonds that will last through your life. You'll go to far away lands and learn about them. You'll fall in love and be hurt, but you'll always go on. Always proving that you and your path of the ninja are worth something. You'll make enemies and fight and defeat them. Soon those who might have put you down will realize that you are worth something. You'll lose some close to you and you'll grieve, but you'll still go on. Then, one day you will learn about me… I hope when that day comes you will forgive me, but I won't blame you if you won't be able to. After that others will begin to learn the truth to, and then they'll say, "He's just like his father." They will be wrong. Then you'll finally become a man and have a family of your own. You'll continue to get stronger to protect them and… if you want you'll be named Hokage. Then you and all those that you have befriended will change this world for the better. Finally, many years into the future the people will say, "He's the greatest Kage there ever was" and then they shall be right."
Minato's eyes finally closed on his sleeping son while his dying breath gently blew, "I love you my most precious Naruto. Live on."
AN: There we are. I got this idea after reading the part in Illiad when Hector says goodbye to his son. Anyway read, review, and so on. Oh, and to the readers of my KP story. The next chapter will be out in a week or so, and it will be a long one. Thanks all.
