Jotl and Falre were basking in the sun. Electric- and Fire-types didn't normally partake in such activities, but today the sun was at just the right temperature for basking, so the two had thought, "Hey, why not?"

Now, before we get any farther, Jotl and Falre is really how their names are spelt. They are pronounced "Joh-tll" and "Fal-reh" respectively. Their female Vaporeon friend, Avpor (ahv-porr), was happily swimming around in the small lake the three Pokemon lived next to.

Jotl stretched his paws out, sighing happily and shutting his eyes. He opened one and looked at Falre, who was whistling a happy tune to a nearby Starly perched on a branch.

"Nice day, huh?" commented Jotl lazily.

Falre nodded, and continued whistling. After a few minutes, there was a slight bubbling near the bank, and a blue finned head popped out of the water.

"Is he still whistling?" sighed Avpor, doing a backflip in the water before letting herself rise to the surface.

"Uh-huh," said Jotl, looking at his friend.

Suddenly, Falre ceased his whistling and jumped up, yelling in fright. He had accidentally moved his tail to a damp patch on the stone he had been sitting on.

Jotl and Avpor laughed heartily. Their friend was always fussy about water. But, then again, he was a Fire-type, and such fears were natural.

"Can we get outta here?" requested Falre feebly.

"If you want, ya big wuss," smirked Avpor.

"That's not funny!" snapped Falre, as Jotl snorted with suppressed laughter.

"It kinda is, big guy," Jotl snickered, punching Falre on the shoulder lightly. Falre gave a grin and punched back, hard. Jotl toppled off his rock, and Falre and Avpor laughed.

"Very funny," grumbled Jotl, clambering to his paws. "NOT."

"You're right," sighed Avpor, looking dejectedly at the ground, her tail beating to keep her upright like some parody of treading water.

"Yeah..." said Falre. "It's HILARIOUS!"

Jotl frowned as Falre and Avpor fell about laughing.

"Humph," muttered Jotl.

"Let's go," said Avpor, clambering out of the lake and shaking herself off.

The three Eeveelutions turned tail and set into the forest, leaving the large sapphire-coloured lake behind them.
