Hotch wanted Emily and he made up his mind that he was going to get her one way or another. He has loved her for longer than he cared to remember or admit to himself. If he were one hundred percent honest with himself he has loved her since the first time he saw her. He knew that her birthday was today so he planned on taking her home with him tonight if she would let him.
He stood up and walked out of his office and down to her desk. He was really nervous but he was doing his best to hide it. He didn't want her noticing how nervous he was. He put his hand behind his back that was holding the red rose he picked up for her this morning on his way to work.
He cleared his throat when he was in front of her desk. "Emily this rose is for you today on your special day. I got you a red rose because I wanted you to know that I love you. I want you to know how much you mean to me and that I am in love with you. Will you be my baby tonight and every day and night after this?"
Emily's eyes misted with tears as Hotch held out the rose to her while he gave his speech. After taking the rose from him she placed it on her desk and then jumped up and went around her desk and came to a halt in front of Hotch. She looked up at him and she saw all the love he felt for her reflected in his eyes. She knew then that she had to be honest with him.
"Aaron I love you too. I knew I loved you the first time I set eyes on you. I just chose to ignore it and to try to fight it. Yes, I will be your baby." Emily said right before she took that final step and set her lips on his to seal the deal.
Emily was finally truly happy. She couldn't believe that her birthday wish had come true.
