Silence by asesina

Kripke owns SPN.

summary: Dean notices the little things. Spoilers for Swan Song. Takes place in Indiana, when Dean's living with Lisa. He goes for a drive and notices Sam's absence.

Word count: 100.

It's the little things that he notices the most, and they're the most painful of all.

Dean notices that there's no one to listen to his raunchy jokes, no one to fight over the radio with, and no one to just sit in silence with him.

It is particularly potent in the Impala.

Even though the radio is playing at full volume, Dean can't escape the silence.

He drives past a group of Indiana State students and envies them for their innocence, but the thought dies just as soon as it's born as a single word forms on lips.

"Sammy."
