It was just another birthday for Percy. More importantly, it was one less year before it happened. Exactly what it was, Percy wasn't sure, he only knew about the prophecy. It could mean another year until his death; that wouldn't be a surprise. Another possibility was the end of the world. That seemed reasonable. It could be saving the world, but Percy didn't feel very optimistic now. If this prophecy foretold good things, he'd know. Besides, his past experience with prophecies wasn't the best, terrible really. For Percy, blowing out the candles was just one step closer to the prophecy.
