A.N. This is a one-shot 8 year old Teddy Lupin finds out how his parents die.

Twenty-two year old Ginny Potter just got her one year old son James to sleep. It was midnight, Teddy Lupin- her godson- was staying over for the weak, she decided to check on him. She walked down the hallway to Teddy's room, to her surprise however, he was awake his hair flashing yellow- meaning he's curious-

"It's midnight, why are you up?" She asked sitting down next to him.

"C-Can you tell me how they d-d...Died?" He asked looking up with big eyes- the one Ginny could never say no too-

'He's eight!'

'I can't lie to him'

'He's too young'

'Harry grew up believing his parents died in a car crash.' She mentally debated with herself

"Okay..." She pulled him in a hug,

"Remus Lupin, and Nyphadora- though if you call her that she would hex you- Tonks... Remus was going to battle in the battle against Voldemort, he made Tonks swear she wouldn't go after him. But she did...She couldn't take not knowing, I met Tonks in the room of requirement, she fought with me for a while. Then she found out he was dueling Dolohov. She fought with him until...Remus was hit...With a k-k-killing curse. Bellatrix came...She killed Tonks..." Ginny noticed tears pouring out of her eyes. Teddy was breathing heavily and shaking. She pulled his light body onto her lap... Normally he would have protested.

"They- they did not die in vain though... They died to protect you. And make it safer..." She trailed off wiping the tears in her eye. Teddy's tears poured out of his eyes quicker. Ginny and her motherly instincts wiped away his tears. "I miss them too." She said quietly

"At least you knew them." He said shaking again. Ginny frowned

"You can still talk to their portraits... Anytime you want, and...The ones who l-love us never really leave us." Ginny said "I think you should go to bed now." He nodded and she tucked him in bed.

"Ginny...Can you stay...Until i fall asleep." He asked shyly

Ginny smiled and picked up a chair that fell and sat down. 'Get's his clumsiness from tonks." Ginny sighed

Ten minutes later she left quietly, and walked into the portrait room. Surprised to see Lily, James, Tonks, Lupin, and Sirius awake. Fred was visiting George, Snape and Dumbledore were in the headmistress' office, Colin and Cedric probably visiting their families.

"Thank you." Tonks smiled

"You heard?'

"Yep. THAT'S WHAT I SAID 'THE ONES WHO LOVE US NEVER REALLY LEAVE US!" Sirius shouted gleefully

"Shut it Black! My kids are sleeping! It's hell to put James back to sleep." Ginny shighed

Lupin smiled "Anyways thank you..."

"Eww... Monney's crying Prongs! What have the mandruares become?" Sirius said dramatically

"Honestly! Sirius you would too! God and if i 'member, you cried when Ginny was telling Teddy that story." Lily scolded. Sirius blushed and Remus and James laughed.

"Ginny you ought to get sleep though...You'll be up in another hour to rescue a crying baby." Lily said

Ginny sighed. They bid goodnight and went to sleep.
