A girl was setting up a new display in a department store window. She wore a dress and stockings, but had taken her shoes off.

A man walked by the store. Seeing the girl in the window, he stopped and watched her, for a while. She put up a few manikins, dressed them, and put miscellaneous props around them. Then she left.

He then walked into the store. Looking around, he saw her walking. He went up to her.

"Hi."

"Hello."

"I just thought I'd tell you that I watched you putting up that display."

"I know. I saw you looking!"

"I'm sorry if that creeped you out, a bit."

"No problem! I'm used to people watching me, while I work."

"I'm glad of that. By the way, do you often do your work barefooted?"

She smiled. "Shoes get in the way, while I'm in that cramped space!"

"Oh, my name's Bernie Schwarts."

They shook hands. "Hi. I'm Rhoda Morgenstern."
