Kaku rarely got much sleep. It was fine for the most part; he was a trained assassin and was always as alert as he needed to be. Still, the occasional good night's sleep was cherished. It wasn't that Kaku was an insomniac, or that he had frequent nightmares. Those things were weaknesses that could be exploited. No, he only had one reason for his inability to sleep. That reason was one Rob Lucci.

These days, Lucci had a habit of coming into his room at night. The first time it happened Kaku was only mildly surprised, thinking that possibly he had been given an urgent assignment. He was far more surprised at the growl that filled the room when he tried to get up. On instinct he froze and tensed, expecting attack. He had narrowed his eyes, squinting into the darkness and trying to find his elusive superior. He hadn't waited long before he heard the soft patter of footsteps headed in his direction.

Kaku had no idea what to make of the situation; had Lucci really be trying to attack him he would have been dead already, probably via soru then shigan. This wasn't entirely likely, but with Lucci you never really knew what he would call a weakness or threat to Cipher Police 9, and Lucci did not waste time. Kaku stared in confusion as the creature came around and leapt onto his bed. It was a leopard. Even in the dim lighting from the moon, Kaku could recognize the shape of Lucci in his complete animal form. The leopard gave off a continuous guttural growl, interrupted only by his soft inhalation. Without any indication of purpose, Lucci curled up and lay down.

All Kaku had been able to do nothing but sleep lightly through the rest of the night and deal with a confused Lucci in the morning. Now, a confused Lucci is not the kind of Lucci you want to be alone with at any given moment. In fact, a confused Lucci looks and acts exactly like an angry Lucci. Kaku could only give a yelp of surprise (not that he'd ever admit to such an undignified sound) as he was yanked down onto the bed and stared almost-helplessly up at the mass of muscle and cold, merciless judgment that was Lucci.

After some careful coaxing and convincing, Kaku and Lucci came to the conclusion that the man was sleep-walking in his animal form. This made some sort of sense, seeing as Lucci was 'part' leopard in a sense and leopards are more nocturnal than not. What Kaku couldn't figure out was why Lucci chose to wander into his room and sleep there. Lucci only made a small pensive noise and left…

… Which brings us to the present with one confused Kaku; there he was, lying in bed staring at the ceiling, wondering something along the lines of 'why me.' Lucci lay curled up next to him, the large cat purring away, his tail occasionally twitching back and forth, batting Kaku across the legs. Kaku turns his head to look at the predator, fully capable of killing him within a blink of the eye, dead asleep next to him in his bed.

Kaku cannot sleep like this.

... This is not so much a story as it is a drabble. It was just this little idea I had in my head which turned into this thing... So, I can't write. ; I don't know if you gathered this or not, but I can't. I have no confidence in my writing, mostly because it is bad and I have a tendency to not finish things. ;A; I'm sorry to my readers of the other stories I have. I didn't realize they were popular because I haven't checked my email...
