Ignore it
"You can transmute love, muddle it, ignore it... but you can never pull it out of you..."
– E. M Forster

"You are boring"
"You are troublesome
"You are such a cry-baby"
"You are such a pain"
Temari sighed and looked away. He was right, she was such a pain. But who could blame her?
The sun was heating, and they were trying desperately to spend time in one of the numerous café's in the leaf village, over their lunch. In about half an hour they had to head back to the office for the planning of the chunin exam. It would be warm, sweaty and oxygen empty in the old building.
And they would have to stand each other for another long, long, long afternoon.
Temari sighed and threw the boring guy a fast glance. He hadn't even looked up from his paper when he insulted her, his narrowed, grey eyes fixed on the black letters. He really was boring. He never did anything more then he had to, he never wasted more energy the he had to, and he never said anything that didn't necessarily had to be said. And when he did, it was always complaining. She couldn't reckon him saying he liked something.
She sighed and rested her cheek in her palm. Ever since she got her, on her mission from Suna, he had been the one to "look over her" and he had done so. Complaining and sulking, of course. God, he wasn't just boring, he was a cry-baby too!
But he did his job, he worked with her, he showed her the town and introduced her to his friends. How so many people could stand his slothful attitude was a riddle for the Suna kunochi.
So now they sat, unspeaking as always except from when they offended each other, and Temari was so BORED!
She looked over to the shadow ninja, who ignored her as always. "Do you ever go out?" she asked him, just to make him recognize her.
He shrugged slightly. "Not if I can avoid it"
"Do you ever do anything?" she kept asking him, annoyed. How could anyone be so blasé?
"See my last answer" he said and switched page, still without looking at her.
Temari stared. He was… amazing, almost. Of all people she had ever met, no one had ever made her so irritated. Not even her stupid brother, Kankuro. And they were siblings, and he wanted to make her snap sometimes!
But this lazy, complaining excuse for a ninja, without any real interests except shogi, and staring at clouds (staring at clouds! Come on!) just made her so frustrated, without even trying.
But he didn't even react to that either, he just sat there, reading his damn newspaper, like she didn't exist. So she stared at him.
Finally, after at least five minutes of glaring, he looked up. "Stop being troublesome…" he yawned. "Is there something wrong, or what?" he asked her, when she didn't stop.
Yes, you ignore me… "No, you are just boring"
"Well, you are troublesome"
"You are such a cry-baby"
"You are such a pain"
A/N: Well, wasn't that sweet? Shikamaru/Temari is the best. Temari is alike me, I usually call guys cry-babies and "töntar" (dorks in English), and their love/hate relationships is veeeery much like me owns.
