A.N. Just a tiny drabble of the birth of a nation. Enjoy!

The woman moaned in agony and bit harder on the cloth in her mouth. Earth or not she still had to go through the pangs of childbirth just like every one of her human daughters. Just like her elderly mistress had a week before.

"You're doing great, Ilana! We're almost done," her assistant encouraged.

With one final push, the baby was swept into waiting arms. The cord was cut, and it was washed clean and bundled before being laid into the arms of the exhausted mother. Finally, it was over.

Mother Earth, or Ilana, as she was known among humans, gazed for the first time on the child she had waited nine long months for. It was a healthy baby girl. Her skin was a beautiful olive, and her hair ebony curls. Her matching eyes gazed curiously upward as she drank from her mother's breast.

"What are you going to name her?"

This was the great nation that would spring from the boy in the nearby tent. The one who's people the Lord promised would be uncountable. Just as He had kept his promise to them, He did not forget her.

"Ester. Her children shall be as numerous as the stars in the sky."

She looked up to see her master at the door in the tent and proudly held up the baby.

"Look, Master Abraham, I have a daughter."
