Fred and George were in their second year. They were standing side by side in front of the mirror of erised that they found in the library. "What do you see Georgey?"
"I see us Freddy, us with our family in our joke shop."
"Me too Freddy me too."
When George woke up from his dream he wished he could go back to sleep. He rolled over in bed and cried. "Why you Freddy? Why not me? It should have been me. If you hadn't pushed me out of the way… you'd still be here."
A few days later its time to send his kids to Hogwarts. The next day he got an owl from them, asking if he was okay because there was a funny ginger boy who looked just like him hanging around with Peeves. George dropped the letter, tears welling up in his eyes. "It's Fred, Angela…my brother Freddy's ghost is in Hogwarts…" That night George sent an owl to the headmaster asking him/her if he could come visit his brother. The next day he disaperated to hogsmeade and walked onto the grounds at Hogwarts. He spent the day with his kids trying to pluck up the courage to talk to Fred. He had to find the best way to get Fred to him. He thought of setting off a stink bomb but that seemed too easy. If only he could still cast a patronus. Ever since Fred died he didn't have any happy memories left. Finally he asked Peeves to take him to Fred's ghost. "Freddy…?"
"George? Georgey! How are you?"
"Better now that I can say a proper goodbye"
"I've been waiting for you. I wanted to see your children. And I wanted to see you."
"I miss you Freddy. I wish you were still alive. Sometimes I wish it was me not you who died."
"Hey…don't say that. I love you Georgey…tell mom I miss her"
"I will"
"Thank you…"
"Why…?" and after a long hug, Fred's ghost left Hogwarts and he moved on to the next life.
"Love you Freddy. See you later. I miss you!" as tears of joys streamed down his face George had an interesting thought. He pulled out his wand and cast a patronus for the first time since the war. He grabbed on to Fred's clock hand as his patronus galloped around the room.
