James Ford was sitting in class and throwing chewed pieces of paper in Ana Lucia's direction. He knew, of course, it wasn't the smartest way to get attention and he has never done it before, but Ana Lucia Cortez fascinated him like nothing in the world, except that bike he saw last week maybe.
She just joined their class this morning, along with a few guys, or a girl, James didn't care. She came and beat him up. And that was something he always respected. He had to go to the nurse with his bleeding knee then, but it was totally worth it.
Of course James had a girlfriend before, but now that Jackie Boy, who cried everytime his mom was leaving, could finally have her. Kate was kind of shared anyway and even though she did kiss his cheek (for W.I.T.C.H. comic book he didn't even own) she was less and less interesting anyway.Like a five year old, when she was already seven! You should learn to make decisions when you are seven.
James threw another piece of paper into Ana's black hair she was just adjusting, but he didn't succeed this time.
"Jimmy!" shouted the teacher and he had to show his empty hands and his dimpled smile to make her leave him in peace again.
There was something good in it though - Ana looked at him. Not the way Kate or other girls looked everytime he did something unruly. She was as far from being fascinated as from being disgusted. She was ironic. She smirked and rolled her eyes and James felt like a preschooler. But she did look and did roll those black eyes and he decided he has to sit next to her as soon as possible. No matter if she wanted it or not, but of course she did.
He had a feeling she's gonna tease him about the name though. Jimmy! He went by James, but recently by Sawyer. Not that Tom Sawyer fascinated him that much, but the name was cool. He actually had to persuade the class it was cool, he was the only person to think so at first, but he succeeded eventually. And now, maybe she smirked not only because he was acting like a kid, but also at this name almost like Jackie Boy? But everything about her could be fascinating, even any name she'd like to call him. He almost gasped at such thought.

"You got beaten up by a girl!" giggled Sayid when they were leaving the school building.
"You would as well. But she chose to beat up me." Sawyer beamed and Sayid couldn't think of any answer so just put his sad facial expression back.
"Hey, Jimmy." chuckled Ana and Sawyer ignored the name just to give Sayid a "See?" look.
"Hey Ana Lulu, umm, you want a W.I.T.C.H. comic book?" that always worked.
"You have a girlfriend in preschool? Who else reads W.I.T.C.H.?" almost always. "But you have any water guns if you so want to give me something?"
Sawyer gulped, she looks genuinely interested and this time he really wanted to even buy the W.I.T.C.H. not only promise it, but giving away his water guns would be a bit too much.
"Course I do."
And then Ana kissed him on the cheek. And it was something more than being kissed for stuff he didn't even own or because it was trendy to kiss James Ford. It was Ana. Sawyer blushed for the first time ever. And he promised to himself it was the last time too.
"So now you're gonna give me one." she did something between smirk and real smile and James felt probably that something they call falling in love. Or he just ate too much. "And you can fool me about W.I.T.C.H., but not about water guns, so bring more, I'm gonna pick the best one myself."
"Cause you did that, you know?"
Ana rolled her eyes.
"Cause you like me."
