I'm the Whisper in the Wind
Kurenai felt each tear fall onto her cheek as she gazed tenderly down at the headstone in front of her. As much as she wanted to believe it truly was all a dream she knew it wasn't. He was gone. The one person who had meant the world to her was gone.
Suddenly the wind whipped around her causing leaves that had cascaded to the ground to fly everywhere. Oddly it reminded her of a song she had heard earlier that day. As she looked to the sky she began singing softly.
"I'm already there "I'm already there
Don't make a sound
I'm the beat in your heart
I'm the moonlight shining down
I'm the whisper in the wind
And I'll be there 'till the end
Can you feel the love that we share
Oh I'm already there
We may be a thousand miles apart
But I'll be with you wherever you are," She stopped singing for a second as many memories of him came flooding back. They put a small smile on her face, but caused the tears to pour even more.
Take a look around
I'm the sunshine in your hair
I'm the shadow on the ground
I'm the whisper in the wind
And I'll be there 'till the end-"
She realized that no, he wouldn't be there until the end, but even so he would always be watching over her as well as their child. Her hand unconsciously gravitated toward her stomach resting on it peacefully. Kurenai sighed as she stood up and brushed away the tears. She would have to stay strong for their child.
Even so as she went to walk away she turned back one last time a tear falling once more onto her cheek.
"I love you Asuma," she whispered before turning and walking away.
A/n: I heard this song randomly today, and it reminded me of Asuma and Kurenai. So this is what came out of the inspiration the song gave me. I hope you guys like it. Please review!
