Drew looked up as he saw Lucy and Cole walking down the hallway, talking.
"You don't wanna go to spring break? Seriously?"
"Yes, seriously. Now stop pestering me."
"Is it about... the skin cancer thing?" Lucy asked him, her voice dropping to a whisper at the last three words.
"No, but thank you for reminding me of that." Cole said flatly. "I'm cool, that's gone."
"But, you don't wanna go to Spring Break?" Drew broke into the conversation, his tone teasing.
"No, now mind your own business." Cole frowned at him.
"Sorry..." Drew said, holding up his hands, "Just would've thought you'd live for Spring Break or something like that."
"Well... I did." Cole admitted. "But, then I met Lucy---"
"Hold up; I never stopped you from partying." Lucy huffed.
"Not what I meant, Babe." Cole said, rolling his eyes. "Look, you're the first girl I..." Cole took a deep breath. "You're the first girl I ever went back to."
Lucy raised an eyebrow at him. "Went back to?" she echoed.
"Yes, as in, once I got laid I was gone? Why go back and redo?" he said. "But... you... I just... couldn't stay away. And, I wanted stuff other than nookie, like just lying in each-other's arms when we're sleeping, and just hanging out reading comic books... just... seeing your beautiful face first thing when I wake up..."
Lucy melted. "Awwww..." she said, throwing her arms around his neck.
Cole smiled, putting an arm around her waist.
"Wait, wait." Drew interrupted. "As... gag-worthy as this all is... what's that got to do with not going to Spring Break. Cause now you just have me curious."
"Okay, fine, I don't want a bunch of drunken idiots--- like I used to be--- looking at my babe, okay?! I don't want them tryin' to grab at her, or say skeevy pickup lines..."
"You're jealous?" Lucy asked with a pleased smile.
"No... I... am not..." Cole lied.
"Oh, dude, you're so screwed." Drew smirked.
"How about..." Lucy said softly in Cole's ear, "we just go to your parents' house since they're still in Iceland... and just chill you and me for the break?"
Cole grinned at her. "Yeah?"
Lucy nodded. "Yes."
"Okay, come on... let's go pack, Babe." Cole said, walking her back to her room, his arm still around her waist.
Drew grinned, and then turned, seeing Denise standing behind him.
"Twenty bucks those two are married before next semester lets out." he said with a smirk.
"Forty it's 'cause she's pregnant." Denise said, holding up the bills.
Drew grinned at her, putting an arm around her waist, and kissed her cheek. "Love you." he said.
"You are so gay sometimes." she laughed, shoving him lightly, and then tossed over her shoulder. "I love you too, you big ole girl; now come. You must service me."
And, Drew laughed, following her...
