Disclaimer: I do not own Percy or Annabeth, just my feels.
Annabeth was using her free time to catch up on some reading when she was forced to put down her book when a knock was heard on the door. As soon as she saw the grin that had been waiting for her behind the door, she sighed in annoyance before going back to her favorite reading chair.
"Could you leave me alone for, like, five minutes?" She said without looking up from her book. She knew once she actually started paying attention to her unannounced guest, she wouldn't be able to turn away as easily.
"I did," Percy complained, "but now I'm bored." He said this as if it were the obvious answer.
Her boyfriend flopped down on Annabeth's bed, right next to where she was trying to concentrate on reading. His head was so conveniently placed that by moving back just a few inches, Annabeth would not be reading any longer but instead looking at Percy's face.
"Wow, must suck to be you." Her voice was quiet as she continued to put most of her effort in reading and not smelling the ocean air that seemed to follow Percy everywhere.
"It does, thanks very much. Even more so now that my girlfriend won't even look at me." As he said this, he turned his body so his stomach was now on the bed and his chin was propped up in his hands.
Annabeth could tell he was looking at her and waiting for her to put down her book so her attention would be focused on him. She just really didn't feel like giving him that satisfaction today. At least, not so soon.
"Mmhm, sounds pretty rough." She was starting to lose her will to ignore Percy. He really was an amazing guy, and Annabeth was quite aware of the fact. She was also aware that as soon as she allowed herself to give him just a bit of her time, she would lose all interest she had in reading. Even now, his presence was distracting. And not just in the sense that she wanted to spend time with him now that he was here with her. No, he was kicking his feet around, fidgeting while trying to find a comfortable position, and brushing his hands through his hair every now and then, doing nothing but making it messier.
"Annabeeeeeth. Come on. I'm a lonely boy. I feed off of attention. Pleeeeease." Annabeth knew his whining was just going to get worse.
She set down her book and looked into his bright eyes.
"You are such a pain." Percy smiled and sat up before pulling Annabeth out of her chair so that she was standing right in front of his crossed legs and he continued to hold her hands in his.
"But that's why you love me." Annabeth rolled her eyes before sitting down on the bed next to Percy and kissing him.
"Hey Wise Girl," Percy said after pulling away from their kiss, "You know what?"
"Do I want to?" Not everything Percy said was as relevant as he thought it was.
"Shut up." He kissed Annabeth's nose gently, making her squish it up like there was a bug n top of it. "I'm not bored anymore."
And thought she hated to admit it, Annabeth enjoyed this much more than reading her book.
Ta-da, the end! So yeah, not what I was planning originally, but this just sort of happened. Let me know if you liked it or not, and if you did, I would happily invite you to read my other stories. All Percabeth one-shots. I know, really versatile. If I was better with ideas, I would write a story, but that probably won't happen anytime soon. Anywho, hope you liked the story and please leave a review with what you thought of it! Constructive criticism is greatly appreciated, as well as squealing and general fangirling.
Thanks for reading!
