Author's Note(s): I don't really know where I'm going with this story. I just got this idea, and my muse wouldn't leave me alone until I wrote it. Draco's sisters are Rebecca (Insanity), Tess (Fire), and Raine (Raven). You'll see what I'm talking about in a minute.
Prologue: Into the Dark
...It seemed to take Sirius an age to fall. His body curved in a graceful arc as he sank backward through the ragged veil hanging from the arch...
And Harry saw the look of mingled fear and surprise on his godfather's wasted, once-handsome face as he fell through the ancient doorway and disappeared behind the veil, which fluttered for a moment as though in a high wind and then fell back into place...
Draco Malfoy sat up, fully awake after the dream. For the first time that summer he understood why Harry Potter, The-Boy-Who-Lived, had distanced himself from everyone at the end of their fifth year at Hogwarts.
"Draco, meeting in five." Tess, one of Draco's three sisters, informed him.
"Why five minutes? I'm ready now, and I assume you were just waiting for me to finish the dream?" Draco asked, following his sister through one of the doors in his room, leading to Raine's room.
"Yes, we were waiting for you. But Rebecca, as well. She's not thinking clearly tonight, so she won't be attending this meeting." Tess told her younger brother. Their younger sister, Rebecca, had been tortured by Voldemort, among other Death Eaters. They didn't kill her, but they drover her nearly insane. There were times when she could think clearly, logically, but most of the time...she was like a hollow shell.
She was Insanity, one of their last resorts. Right before Death, that is.
"Dawn approaches, we must hurry." Elizabeth told them, changing quickly into her animal form. A red fox, like the scarlet red of her hair. Elizabeth, her name was Scarlet.
"I trust you know what you are to do?" Raine asked him. Draco nodded. Rain smiled secretively, and transformed into a bird; Raven, their leader.
"Raven and I will be going with you, the others will take care of Lucious." Tess said. She transfigured herself into a red snake. Fire.
"Good luck, Speaker." Death, Hailey, told him in her soft, dangerous voice. Draco nodded, not trusting himself to say anything to her. 'Ironic,' he thought, changing himself into his silver-white wolf form. 'My name is Speaker, and I can't even talk to my own team.'
'Well, she is rather creepy.' Scarlet answered, walking alongside him. 'Raven told me to tell you the plan.'
'What is it? The usual get in, distract, do business, get out?' Draco, now Speaker, asked. Scarlet nodded in confirmation.
They reached the Ministry of Magic with relatively no problems at all. (There was one Muggle Animal Control centre that they passed...)
'Speaker, go in and deal with the 'problem.' We'll stay out here.' Raven told him. Speaker (Draco)'s wolf form nodded, and he headed inside. He knew the exact door to go through to get to the room with the veil.
And a few moments later, he, as a silver-white wolf, stood before it. Speaker (Draco) stepped into the veil's darkness without a trace of the hesitation he felt.
