Ed was blushing furiously. He couldn't believe what he was about to do, but he had to do it. He lost the bet. He was paying for it. Him, Alphonse, and Havoc had met up at a local cafe Ed frequented when he was younger. They were now all waiting on Winry, who was scheduled to meet up with them any minute.
"What's wrong with your brother?" Havoc asked from his seat across Alphonse. The three were in a booth with Alphonse sitting across from Havoc and Ed sitting beside him. "He's really red."
"He lost a bet," Alphonse answered. He wasn't going to say any more than that. The only reason he clarified that Ed had lost a bet in the first place, implying he was preparing to do something embarrassing, was because when Ed was a teenager, he often showed up to Central Command with a fever and a red face. Those were the days Ed usually needed to be returned to his dorm.
"Oh." Havoc returned to his menu.
That was when Winry arrived. She scanned the cafe until she saw the others, plopping into the booth next to Alphonse, directly across from Edward.
"Hey, guys," Winry greeted. "I've never been here before. Is the food good?"
"Yeah," Ed mumbled. He knew Winry hadn't really been anywhere in Central yet. She was still getting used to being there for longer amounts of time.
Alphonse nudged his brother, trying to get him to speak. Al continued to nudge him until he got Ed's attention.
"Winry..." Ed trailed off.
"Yes, Ed?" Winry asked, looking up from the menu she had been handed and looking to the blonde male.
"Um..." he trailed off. "I'd trade an arm and a leg to get a piece of your Philosophers stone."
"What?" Winry asked, though Ed had practically jumped out of his seat and darted to the bathroom.
Winry stopped and stared at Alphonse with an unimpressed expression.
"Did you two bet on something again?"
