Stepping into the light…

I can't keep living in his shadow…I just cant. Yes, he did find me but…does that make a difference? I've looked up to him for way too long, I don't remember much about my life before I met Sonic. But after that moment he was my hero, he raised me to be who I am today, and I'm very grateful. But I'm growing up, I can't be his little sidekick any longer, I have to take charge and become my own person. He has his talents…I have mine, he has speed, I have mechanics, over they years I've grown more dependent on him, from now on I'm going to step into the light, out of his shadow, and become who I am…Miles "Tails" Prower.
Tails was awakened by the chirping of birds and the rays of sunshine as they hit his hut and shone through the window, and remembered the promise he had made to himself, all those years ago. He decided he was going to take down Robotnik, once and for all, without any help. He gathered the pack he had made just a few nights before, carefully grabbing food and the basic necessities. He'd woken up before anyone, and this was the perfect time to travel to the edge of the Great Forest, the first step of his plan.
It took him all day to get through the forest and he camped at edge at about 6 o' clock PM, waiting for the time when the sun would set and the darkness of night would consume Mobius. Allowing the perfect disguise, he slipped on an all black suit, which covered his arms, feet, and face; especially quiet by the way he had designed it. As soon as nightfall hit full force he put his plan to work, which included traveling straight through Robotropolis and slaying Robotnik and shutting down Robotropolis once and for all. He slipped a small black backpack onto his back and set out across the desolate area that separated the Great Forest and the evil city of Robotropolis.
As he neared the edges of the city, his senses became more acute and his movements quicker…and quieter. Quickly, he took refuge in the shadows and leaned up against the wall, using it as a guide through the alleyways. He snuck into a dark corner and took this opportunity to check his own hand held computer, which he had named, "Mia." It was modeled after Nicole, only customized for Tails' use, after typing a few keys a digital map of Robotropolis appeared, a red line was marked through the city, showing the quickest, and safest route. The path weaved in and out of the buildings, finally leading to an old sewage pipe, which would lead him easily to the central control room…and Robotnik. The problem was he had to go straight through a robot factory, which was heavily guarded, there was no way around it, he had checked.
He sighed and closed Mia and tucked it away into one of the pockets of the backpack. Tails peered around the corner and made sure nothing was there and crept along the wall. So far so good, he thought as he made his way towards the factory. He turned another corner and gasped.
Of course, by this time Sonic had noticed he was missing, the news spread through Knothole like wildfire through a forest. Less than an hour later, a search part was formed and a search of the Great Forest began.
