A/N: We (myself and Ginny Malfoy) know that Cho's not in Draco's year, and that this isn't what happened at the Yule Ball, but, hey, it's fanfiction, so we can do anything (By the way, read Ginny Malfoy's writing too).

Draco Malfoy looked at her. He noticed the way her eyes sparkled when she laughed, the way she flipped her hair, the perfect whiteness of her teeth when she smiled. He loved Cho Chang. If only.

"Draco darling! Come here my sweet!" Pansy had already invited him to the Yule Ball. Why had he said yes? Because he knew that only in his wildest dreams would Cho have asked him. And besides, she was already taken. By a dimwitted Hufflepuff. Cedric Diggory.

"Quick honey darling, we'll be late for class!" Pansy again. Draco sighed and walked off slowly to join the pug-faced brat of Slytherin.

"What do we have next then?" he asked.

"Charms with Ravenclaw," she said sweetly. "You WILL let me sit next to you, Draco dear?"

His only chance to sit next to Cho! Not realizing what he was saying, Draco blurted out, "Of course sweetie."

Pansy beamed at him. "Well then, do you think it's time that we became officially a couple?" she asked.

Draco groaned mentally and didn't answer.

He was almost to Charms when he heard giggles. Not just little giggles, mind you. Big fat ones. Cho giggles.

"I have to go to the restroom, Panz, meet up with you later," he told his now-girlfriend absentmindedly. He took the hallway to where the Cho giggles were coming from.

There she was. He stood by the staircase and...wait! Was that Harry Potter talking to her? "$#@!," he muttered, and watched as his archnemesis's heart got broken.

As soon as Harry left he walked up to Cho. "Er..." he said, no brilliant phrases coming to his mind at this moment.

"I love you," he whispered, and ran away, not realizing that she hadn't heard a word of what he had said, she was so busy thinking about Cedric.
