They never believed it could happen. Surely many speculations had been made, but no one truly paid mind to them. Some claimed to, but many were also dubbed mentally inadequate. If not, then they were simply outcast by society, dominated by believers of a God who shunned the very words few dared to speak.
We are not alone.
Why would we be? The universe is a place far larger than any one man, even myself, is capable of comprehending. It exists to grow and expand endlessly, thus, possibilities of extraterrestrial life become endless.
I feel like an old man babbling nonsense. Many, both civilians and colleagues, would label me as such. But I know damn well what I saw- what we saw. Anyone with the nerve to deny it is a fool, closed minded and reclusive from both the obvious and the unavoidable. Minds as such may not survive long in the new world I predict is upon us.
The ship arrived without warning, entering our radars briefly, as if to get a closer look at us. It did this several times over several places above the Earth; first above Asia, then near Australia, Europe, and Africa. This all occurred within a span of two hours, a remarkably fast trip around our planet… For us, at least.
Next came the radio waves. None of the messages were clear, as our equipment was not developed enough to understand their message (though many would argue the opposite). Repeatedly, we would get static, a flash of eerie reds and pinks, then nothing. At least twenty times did they try to make contact, but it has gone without success. I fear what would happen if we do not decipher what they are transmitting to us soon.
