Aang: 16

Katara: 17

It was a rainy day in the city of Ba Sing Se, Sokka and Suki were playing Phi So, Zuko was making Iroh tea, and Toph was picking her toes. Aang was staring at Katara who was waterbending in the rain. He watched as she took the water all around her and bent it to her will. He saw as each droplet fell and was absorbed into the water that she was bending. He stopped looking at her bending, and started to stare at her. He watched as the rain fell on her, it fell on her with ease as if someone or something was dropping them with precision. Her hair was shining and whipped around with each motion. Aang couldn't take it anymore, he started to walk towards her, she noticed, but acted like she didn't. As he came closer and closer, the waterbender started to feel her heart pound in her chest, likewise for the airbender. When Aang was 5 feet away she stop moving and stared into the young airbender's eyes, they were as grey as the storm clouds above them. Soon Aang was only inches away from her. Their heart beats now in their ears. Aang looked down at her arm, held his breath, and placed his hand on it, she released the water that she was holding onto and closed her eyes. She held her breath, afraid if she started to breathe that he would walk away. He moved his hand slowly down her smooth skin, careful not to go to fast and carefully wiping away the rain drops. When he reached her hand, he slowly held on to it. When Katara opened her eyes she was meet by two storm clouds staring back at her. Their heart beats began to synchronize, and they began to inch closer and closer to each other until their lips made contact. They now release the breath that they were holding on to, which felt like centuries. They held on to each other afraid that if they let go, the other would be lost forever. When they pulled back, they looked into each others eyes and knew what the other was saying. No words were used, no words were needed.
