The Car Scene
This is my first fanfic. I went so crazy after the car scene in Philadelphia, I just HAD to rewrite it.
This is how the scene should have went in the eyes of an E/O shipper.
"I've been alone my whole life".
Elliot felt his heart and mind at war once again as he heard her words. He didn't want to get too close to Olivia on this level, hell they were already too close, but he could no longer stop it this time. He was tired of shutting up his feelings and his heart for so many years.
He knew he couldn't just sit there and do nothing like he always did.
Elliot reached behind Olivia and rubbed her neck tenderly.
"You're not alone now."
Olivia could barely keep her emotions in as she felt the electricity of Elliot's touch along with the genuine comfort.
"I'm sorry, El..I..."
"Shhhh...not another word. It's ok."
At this, Olivia finally lost her hold on her tightly controlled emotions and leaned into Elliot sobbing.
He pulled her in close to his chest and without a word just held her and allowed her to finally let go.
"No one ever tells me it's ok, El. I've never had anyone to cry to. Never had anyone to comfort me. I am always the comforter. I try to be strong for the victims and their families. I never give in. But..oh god..now this, and..." Olivia's sobs became heaving and she could no longer speak.
"Shhhhhh...you're safe to let go with me Liv. You know that. No one will hear you but me. Just let it all out." Elliot reached up and stroked the back of Olivia's head gently.
After a few minutes, his hand gently swept away her bangs from her forehead and he slowly nudged her head up from his chest. "Look at me Liv. Look up."
Olivia was still crying hard but when she finally looked up into Elliot's eyes, it was with pure trust.
"Liv, I care about about you more than you know. More than I should." He sighed and looked away, then looked back into her sad eyes. "Liv, I love you."
At this, Olivia lost it again, burying her head in Elliot's chest, but now her tears were mixed with joy. "Oh god, El...oh god, I need you..." After a few minutes, Olivia looked up again at Elliot. "You love me?" she asked incredulously.
"Yes, Liv. I do. So much. And I know it's not supposed to be this way, and we're not supposed to...
"Shhh.." Now it was Olivia's turn to shush Elliot. She gently laid a finger on his lips. "I know."
She laid her head on his chest again and whispered..."I've loved you as long as I've known you El. God, how I love you."
At this they just held each other tightly...just the two of them in the squad car, alone on a cold New York night, holding on to an impossible love.
THE END.
