Chapter 1: Welcome to Jurassic World

Four years it had been four years since he had escaped Isla Sorna, and in that time, he could only think about going back. "Just a little longer, after this I'll be able to see them all again" he thought remembering a certain raptor pack and more specifically a certain alpha and baby raptor.

Tyler sighed as he felt the salty ocean breeze whip past his face. The other passengers on the large ferry boat were bustling around the cabin eagerly talking to friends and family or trying to corral their children. For these other passengers the clear pacific sky made their arrival to their destination even more picturesque but for Tyler this journey was more business oriented, after all while these other passengers would soon be disembarking the ferry to begin their honeymoon/vacation/family trip Tyler would be doing so to begin his new job. Ahead of the ferry was their destination, a fairly large island named Isla Nublar, but many know the island as Jurassic World.

Unlike Jurassic Park which Tyler knew was ended by corporate sabotage and a tropical monsoon, Jurassic World managed to become a fully functioning park and even now three full years after it was made they still saw huge numbers of visitors year-round. During their first two years the park had struggled to cope with the ridiculous attention and guest numbers but now that the prices for admittance had risen the number had dropped to manageable numbers. The company behind this phenomenon was Masrani Global and its owner Simon Masrani, the eccentric billionaire had invested heavily into the park and in genetic research to huge payoff.

The public itself was fully trusting of the company's ability to prevent another Jurassic Park incident but Tyler and others in the know were aware that all it took was one screw up to bring the whole house of cards tumbling down. Thankfully Masrani seemed to also be aware of this had high levels of security on the island to prevent a dinosaur breakout and corporate sabotage. The islands last defense against a potential outbreak was the ACU or Asset Containment Unit, a group of armed security personnel that sedated or eliminated any rouge dino in the park. As Jurassic World was seeking to expand its list of exhibits the company was hiring more people into the ACU, individuals like Tyler.

Tyler was broken from his musings by the ship docking and the people quickly disembarking into the main street of Jurassic World. Tyler trailed behind hefting a large backpack and pulling a suitcase while taking in the view of the parks main hub. On either side of the main street were various stores and restaurants filled with various guests along with small vendors selling ice-cream, drinks, food, and toys. To the left and a little away from the main street where the hotels that many people from the ferry were heading toward while the smaller portion where heading down the road to the pyramid like building that was the visitor center.

"Mr. Coombs, Mr. Coombs" a voice spoke up trying to be heard over the crowd. Tyler looked over and saw a African American man holding a sign with his name on it. The man himself was obviously a member of the parks staff and based on his grey outfit and the patch on his shoulder was a member of the ACU.

Tyler headed over and nodded to the man "I'm Tyler Coombs are you my welcoming committee?" he asked as the two shook hands.

"Name's Austin, I'm in charge of the ACU's team two. When I heard we were getting a new guy with no police or military experience I thought Mr. Masrani was crazy, until I saw your resume. Anyone with experience staring down a dino with no fence between them and living to tell about it is welcome to my team. Come on let's show you where you'll be shaking up." The man said with a grin before leading Tyler a short distance to a parked jeep and after Tyler put his things in the back the two drove off down a side road that quickly became dirt.

"So, what can you tell me to expect from the job here anything in particular I should be weary of?" Tyler asked as the two bounced around the cabin.

Austin shrugged "Not so much on the asset part of it, breakouts and escapes are very rare and usually only an herbivore that got through a fence taken down by a tree, but those are usually over in a couple minutes. Each dino had a tracker imbedded under the skin that allows us to pinpoint their exact position at any given time. Only thing I can recommend is agree with everything Mr. Hopkins says and don't piss off Ms. Dearing and Captain Hamada. Even though the Masrani owns the park INGEN is responsible for a lot of the security including our paychecks so since Mr. Hopkins is their rep I wouldn't get on his bad side. Ms. Dearing is the director of operations, she's a redhead that's always wearing white cant miss her. Anyway, she's no nonsense and very strict so don't slack off anywhere she might see you. Other than that Captain Hamada is the leader of team one and he's been pissed with Owen and his pack of raptors. Thinks they're a security threat which in light of how smart raptors are I can't disagree with him."

Tyler rose a brow "Why's he up in arms over it?"

Austin laughed "Because Hopkins has this fantasy of training raptors to fight in war zones."

Tyler's scowled "That's stupid, besides how morally wrong it would be to create and grow a creature just to fight in war. The last I checked bullets were still a thing and raptors were not bullet proof. So long as you know how they operate and you have a few allies with you their actually relatively simple to take down."

Austin smiled at Tyler "Well you've got the most experience in that field, but I agree with you but again he's the one that writes our paychecks so…" Austin trailed off with a what can you do look.

After a five-minute drive they arrived in front of a series of building that served as apartments for the staff of the island. Getting his things Tyler followed Austin to apartment 32 and walked in after the man opened the door. Inside the room was a general kitchen and living area with a nearby closet and a closed door that led to the bedroom and attached bathroom. On the kitchen table was a metal case that Austin gestured to.

"That's your issued gear, your dart rifle and other specialized equipment is in the ACU arms room just down the street, can't miss it. Anyway here." Austin handed Tyler a badge with ACU printed in bold black letters and a barcode under it as well as a black pager. "That's your ID to get in the arms room and other facilities around the park as well as your pager to alert you if an emergency happens when your off shift. As it stands we have two teams of four ready always with a group of five including yourself that rotates shift with us. If something happens that the off-shift members need to be called the pager will go off." Austin instructed as explained the various items. "Your first shift is tomorrow from 3am to 3pm, just report to the arms room get where I'll meet you grab your gear, introduce you to the rest of my team and show you the ropes."

Tyler nodded and thanked the friendly man before he left and started to unpack. The first thing was going into the bedroom and sitting down on the double bed before opening his suitcase and pulling out the various parts of the disassembled AK-47 hidden in various areas of the suitcase. Getting around Costa Rica customs had been a joke with his money and Isla Nublar wasn't looking into employee's luggage unless they were working in the lab. After assembling the weapon Tyler hid it away under his bed along with five clips of ammo. The rest of his suitcase was much tamer being mostly cloths toiletries, camping equipment, MRE's, and a first aid kit, let it not be said that he wasn't prepared for his new job to go to shit in a heartbeat.

After getting everything set out Tyler sat down and pulled out his cell phone before calling a number. After a couple rings the call was picked up "Hey Tyler you arrived yet?" the male voiced asked over the phone.

"Yeah" Tyler responded "Just settled into my room and got the itinerary for tomorrow. How about you Rick, Lucy and Scar settling into their new home?"

The conversation with Rick went along nicely with the two making small talk before finally Rick got into the meat of the matter "I still don't know why you need to work with INGEN. We both know they're shady."

Tyler sighed "For getting rep with Masrani and to honor our deal with Hammond. We all know this place is a ticking time bomb and if I'm here than Hammond Industries has a chance of mitigating the fallout when in inevitable does. They could use the incident to prove that INGEN is inept and wrestle control of the islands security to them" he explained.

Rick sighed on the other end and after a pause responded "I get it I'm just worried about you is all. Do you still have it?"

Tyler's hand went to a small earbud in his right ear that almost blended with his skin tone. "Yeah I still have maybe it will help me once this shit goes sideways."

Rick chuckled on the other end before sighing again "I have to go now Tyler, stay safe out there."

Tyler nodded even though Rick wouldn't be able to see him "I will hope to talk to you again soon with good news Rick, bye" Tyler hung up before moving his gaze to the window and at the large mountain that dominated Isla Nublar. Tomorrow would begin his new life at Jurassic World.

Aaannndddd Chapter! That's right folks its back and going a different direction than the old version. As you can all see I'm going to do the Jurassic World Ark first before going to Isla Sorna and introducing the Rangers. For those of you that wanted to know if the events of fallen Kingdom will be in this one the answer is no those events will be different and taking place in this series third instalment. For any OC's submitted in the last version many will be appearing in this fic either on Jurassic World or when we get to the rangers.

Anyway, that's it for now if you have any questions feel free to PM me or ask in the review. So until next time remember to stay frosty and don't forget to review.
