Stand in the Rain

The feline Anbu moved forward gracefully, followed by the crow, the fox, and snake. She glanced behind them, before returning her attention to the path they were taking. Their mission was simple. Scout Ame without being caught, due to the rumors that the Akatsuki base was hidden had already gone to scout, but he was over due to return. They were also ordered to help him in any way possible if they found him.

Sakura gasped in surprise, staring at the scene before her.

Six Pein bodies stood in a circle as Jiraiya lay still on the ground. Naruto growled in anger, ready to attack.

"Naruto, go back."

"What?!?" he practically screamed. Sakura glared at him through her mask.

"Sh! I will try to help Jiraiya-samma as best I can, but Akatsuki are looking for you! You need to leave. Now. Sai, go with him." Sai nodded in response, grabbing Naruto by the shoulder and dragging him back to Konoha. Sakura immediately called for reinforcements. An Anbu Squad leader responded with a 'Hai.' Sakura tok a deep breath.

"What should we do?" Sakura asked her former sensei.

Kakashi stared at her.

"You promised Naruto you would help Jiraiya. Do you think you can keep it?"

"I can try."

Kakashi nodded. Sakura ignored the Pein's, and ran forward. Kakashi and the reinforcements fought bravely, facing each one of them. Except, for the real Pein.

"There is nothing you can do." he told her. Sakura ignored him. She had to try. She checked his vitals signs and cursed. His heart beat was slowly dropping. Sakura immediately set into action, using her chakra to charge the heart and keep it beating, while she healed some of the major wounds.

Pein watched nonchalantly as she healed the damage he had done. Her skills were impressive in the medical field. He knew of her. Very well in fact. She was a threat to him and his plans, having been the Kyuubi Jinchuuriki's friend and the student of Tsunade. He could easily kill her now. Be thought not.

Keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer.

Pein pressed a pressure point on her neck swiftly, and called for Konan. Konan appeared as little tiny papers floating in the wind.

"Take her."

No other words needed to be spoken. Konan wrapped Sakura's limp form in paper, before disappearing completely, Sakura with her.
