Disclaimer: Katsura Hoshino-Sensei owns D. Gray-man and all its characters; I do not.
Author's Note: It saddens me to know that there aren't enough fics for this pairing. Personally, I think it's cute. Feedback/criticism is always loved~.
Teal irises glistened in delight, as the blond man — he being the owner of said twinkling orbs — widely grin at a certain silver-haired Exorcist.
The fifteen year-old boy, in turn, sheepishly replied with an awkward chuckle.
"Walker-kun, it's safe to say that your new form of Innocence has successfully passed all of the tests. Your synchronization-rate far surpassed our expectations!"
The younger adolescent began to blush a soft pink at the amount of excitement the Branch Head spoke to him in.
"A-ha-ha, I don't deserve the praise, Bak-san…" He modestly refuted.
A frown marred the blond male's features, before it brightened up once more.
"Quit being so humble; be glad that you and your Innocence's will finally agreed with one another." He persisted.
Allen playfully exhaled a weary sigh, before a small grin replaced his once discomfiture one.
"Well, in all honestly, I have Bak-san to thank for that…" He shyly conceded, averting his gaze as he look down at his feet.
The elder male felt his cheeks turn a light shade of red, as he combat against his body's need to burst out into hives, as he usually did.
An overly ecstatic expression graced his features, as he leaned forward some in order to lightly pat the silver-haired boy on the head. Gently ruffling his tresses, it took him a while before it dawned on him that Allen had stiffened like a piece of cardboard.
Quirking an eyebrow, he took a step back before he inquired, "Walker-kun, are you okay?"
For a moment, Bak could have sworn he had heard the adolescent mutter a 'thank you' under his breath.
Regardless, he sent him a goofy grin; the blond's expression going lighthearted once more as he gently embraced the young Exorcist.
"We're glad to have you back, Allen." He reassured.
Even if the moment were an ephemeral one, for the first time, in a long time, the two felt at peace.
