I'm the one that the others always lean on. Without me, they'd be lost.
For a long time I didn't realize this. In fact, I thought quite the opposite. I had been abandoned ever since I was little; it was natural for me to lean on him, the first person to befriend me.
I thought he was the greatest. There was no one faster, stronger then him. I remember the first time I met him. The blue blur ran past me, and I knew he was someone special, like me. Somehow, I managed to keep up. Sonic... I will never forget that day. And then I remember the first time I helped him to save the world—no, how we saved the world. Together, we defeated Robotnik. At the time I didn't realize that I was going to become Sonic's "rock." But I was well on my way.
And then there was the first time we met Knuckles and Amy. Admittedly, I wasn't there to help Sonic with Amy. But that didn't matter. It was the time when we faced Chaos, that I finally began to realize how important I am. It was after me and Sonic had rescued Amy from the Eggcarrier. I saw that Robotnik was going to blow up Station Square. Luckily the missile was a dud, but I still had to beat Eggman to it. I remember that I was so scared. Huh, I thought I couldn't do anything without Sonic back then. But I did. I made it to the missile before Eggman, and then I beat his stupid Eggwalker to a pulp. That's when I realized, it had been me all along. Sonic hadn't saved Station Square, I had. And all those times Sonic had saved the world with me, he hadn't done it alone. If I hadn't been there, the outcome would've been different. I didn't need Sonic, Sonic needed me.
The truth became more apparent as time went on. It had been me that had come up with the plan to prevent the Ark from firing. I even defeated Robotnik without Sonic. Ha! Without me, Sonic wouldn't have known to go up onto the Ark in the first place. As for Metal Sonic, who helped Sonic to defeat Metal Overlord?
And so they need me. All of them. Without me, they'd be lost. I'm the one who figured out how to harness the chaos emeralds, I'm the one who's created countless inventions that have stopped Eggman time and time again, I'm the one who always comes up with the plans.
I don't depend on Sonic. They depend on me.
