Connected by a Golden Thread
First Year
James was minding his own business, whist saying goodbye to his parents at Kings Cross Station - Platform 9 3/4.
When a stunning red head passed beside him she was rushing to get onto the train, but her luggage was holding her back. At this moment she was struggling to get her luggage onto the train. So James did the only thing a gentleman would do, he went to help her.
"hi there, do you need some help?" the red head had not noticed him until this moment, so when she turned her emerald green eyes and her red hair stunned him.
"oh, if you wouldn't mind" she said
"Yep of course"
James lifted her trunk with ease, up onto the train.
"Thank you, I'm Lily Evans" she said putting a sweet smile on her face and holding out her hand, expecting James to shake it.
"James Potter" shaking Lily's hand, James hoped for a bright future with her. Then the train lurched forward into life, Lily ended up on top of James, she quickly stood up blushing slightly.
"So..." James commented
"So, I'm new to this Wizard, stuff, I mean I know a little from Severus but that's all." Lily chatted
"You're a muggle born?"
"Yeah"
Lily was interested in James, but she didn't want to make any assumptions, yet.
"Hey Lily, how was your holiday in France?"
"It was good thanks Sev, how was the remainder of your holiday?"
"Well great, you know with parents arguing every few minutes." Sev answered
"so Lily who is this" James asked, although he already had a disliking of this boy, who would with that greasy hair.
"James Potter Meet Serverus Snape" Lily told James "and Serverus Snape meet James Potter"
The two boys briefly shook hand, only to make Lily happy, then they began glaring at each other.
"Right, well, I'm going to find a compartment, see you boys later."
James watched Lily walk away, hoping that one day he could have a chance with the lovely Lily Evans.
Lily was walking down the corridor glowering from her meeting with James. She was trying to find a free compartment. The best that she could find was a compartment with a single girl who looked about her age.
"Hi" Lily said nervously "Can I sit in here?"
"Of Course, come in, I'm Hestia Jones by the way"
"Lily Evans"
"Well, it's nice to meet you Lily"
Lily sat down, and started to talk to Hestia, they were fast becoming good friends.
James had just crashed into a boy, who appeared to be his age named Sirius Black they seemed to get along well, then Sirus took James back to his compartment where a Remus Lupin was waiting for Sirus, the three of them got along well. Later that night they were all sorted in to Gryffindor. A boy named Peter Pettigrew didn't join their friendship until they were all in the same dorm together, they all shared a passion for pranking; imagine the trouble they will get into.
Lily and Hestia were also sorted into Gryffindor, later in their dorm; they met Alice Carden who was friends with Melisa McDonald. The four of them became friends quickly and were all keen to learn magic.
