"Beck!"
The red head ran over to her friend and she plopped herself down on the bench beside him. Beck looked over at her, surprised to see the usually happy an outgoing red heads face tear-stained. He wrapped an arm around her.
"Hey what's wrong?" He asked softly and Cat turned her big, teary brown eyes toward him.
"This mean old lady yelled at me when I tried to help her across the street and she said I was weird then made fun of my hair," she said, obviously on the verge of crying.
"Aw, come here," Beck said as he wrapped an arm around her.
Cat began to cry at the mean grandma that had yelled at her and Beck sat with her, gently wrapping his arms around her tiny waist. He rocked her back and forth while making shushing noises and whispering sweet nothing's in her ear as he rocked her. After a while she had stopped crying and she tried to wipe up her now smeared makeup.
"Thanks," Cat said softly, her voice wavering a little bit from all the crying she did.
Beck picked up a napkin from the table and gently helped her wipe the smeared mascara from her face. He smiled at her and she just had to smile back at him. Cat gave her friend a great big hug.
"Thanks again," she said with a smile as she kissed his cheek. Beck smiled widely and pecked her lips softly.
"Anything for you, Cat."
